What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop cross-functional engineering teams, fostering a culture of trust and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to translate business objectives into delivery plans.
• Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery while balancing speed, reliability, and long-term technical health.
• Support and guide technical decision-making in cloud-native and container-based systems.
• Ensure teams follow strong engineering practices around quality, security, observability, and reliability.
• Remove delivery impediments, manage dependencies, and proactively address risks.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead or similar leadership role.
• Strong background in software engineering, with hands-on experience earlier in your career.
• Solid knowledge of containerisation and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to reason about systems running in Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting.
• Experience leading teams in building and operating cloud-native applications.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with container-based delivery.
• Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, feedback, and performance management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience working closely with Platform, DevOps, or SRE teams.
• Exposure to public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience in product-led or platform organisations.
• Interest in engineering enablement, delivery excellence, or AI-assisted development.
