hirify.global is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage mission-critical databases in dynamic environments.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, and optimize production and development database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB).
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness, and implement security best practices and compliance standards.
• Design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify issues before they impact production.
• Collaborate closely with DevOps, Engineering, and Application teams to support CI/CD and automate database provisioning and deployments.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and maintain comprehensive documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and performance tuning.
• Experience with at least two major database platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL + MySQL or SQL Server + MongoDB).
• Hands-on experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS or Aurora, GCP Cloud SQL, or Azure SQL).
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Solid understanding of database security, encryption, and access control models.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven experience working in a global or distributed team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Database Specialty or Microsoft Certified DBA.
