Senior Software Developer (Defensive Security): Joining the Application Security team to proactively discover, exploit, and remediate critical security vulnerabilities across applications with an accent on building innovative tools and providing guidance on vulnerability remediation. Focus on challenging defenses, partnering with development teams, and improving application security in a continuous integration environment.

Location: This role is available to candidates across Canada. If you are local to one of our hubs (Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto) you will be expected to be in office minimum two days per week for our Anchor Days.

Salary: $149,600 to $202,400 CAD

What you will do

• Bring strong, senior level development experience to the Application Security Team.
• Develop and implement tools to help educate, reduce toil, and prevent security flaws.
• Provide detailed guidance and support to teams in vulnerability remediation along with remediating vulnerabilities in core codebases.
• Advise on security best practices within hirify.global’s application security teams.
• Identify, improve, and implement tools for automated application scanning, static analysis, and custom tooling.
• Contribute to growing security awareness and knowledge amongst the product organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years experience with Ruby, Python, Javascript or other equivalent modern languages and tools.
• Experience in secure software development, application security, and security tools development and implementation, especially in the CI/CD environment.
• Experience in some combination of cloud security, threat modelling, and architecture review.
• Work from Canada.
• Expected to be in office minimum two days per week if local to Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto hubs.
