What you will do

• Own architecture and technical roadmap for integration services and APIs ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Design, implement, and maintain RESTful and event-driven integration patterns, connectors, and middleware services.
• Define and enforce integration standards, API contracts, versioning, and authentication/authorization protocols.
• Ensure high availability, monitoring, alerting, and lead incident response for integration-related issues.
• Lead code reviews, promote clean code, testing, and automation to meet security and performance requirements.
• Mentor integration engineers and collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps teams for successful delivery.

Requirements

• Location: Birkirkara, Malta
• 6+ years experience in backend or integration engineering with 2–3 years in a technical lead role.
• Strong expertise with Java, Kotlin, Node.js, RESTful APIs, message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS) and security best practices.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
