What you will do

• Deliver and iterate on new functionality for Grafana backend services.
• Contribute to and review design documents for upcoming features.
• Embrace open-source culture and contribute to other projects.
• Influence the product roadmap and your career objectives.
• Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of running services.
• Mentor and support team members, engaging in design discussions.

Requirements

• Solid experience with Go (preferred), Python or Java.
• Good understanding of relational databases such as MySQL, SQLite, and Postgres.
• Experience delivering projects from requirements gathering to product shipment.
• Experience writing clean, robust, and performant software.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative, asynchronous environment.
• Ability to break down complex challenges into modular solutions for iterative delivery.
• Must be based remotely in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with open-source software or commercial open-source companies.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, or Developer Efficiency.
• Familiarity with Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles.
• Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.
