Salary: USD $119,800 – $234,700 per year (base pay across the U.S.) or USD $158,400 – $258,000 per year (San Francisco Bay area and New York City).

What you will do

• Write maintainable, extensible, well-tested, secure, and high-performance code for backend cloud services.
• Lead architectural discussions and develop complex design specifications, innovating on product solutions.
• Collaborate with partner teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration, scalability, and live-site readiness.
• Lead by example in coding, code review, debugging, and the use of AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Implement and uphold security standards across all layers of solutions.
• Use experimentation and telemetry to measure impact and continuously improve product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, Rust, or Python.
• Experience developing and maintaining large distributed systems with high reliability and latency requirements.
• Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops, Git, and C# development.
• Knowledge of networking and web protocols (HTTPS, REST, OAuth).
• Work from office required four days per week if within 50-mile commute of a U.S. Microsoft office.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience OR Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years of experience.
• Familiarity with client app development on Windows, iOS, or Android.
