Location: Remote from Greece or Cyprus, with occasional team meetings a few times per year. Onsite options available in Chania, Athens (Greece) or Limassol (Cyprus).

What you will do

• Design and ship LLM-powered backend systems for product features.
• Build and maintain retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.
• Develop and evolve backend services integrating LLM workflows into a large-scale SaaS platform.
• Work with document, structured data stores, and vector databases.
• Design, version, and maintain reliable and testable prompt pipelines.
• Build evaluation and monitoring systems for quality, latency, cost, and regressions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Proven experience building and operating LLM-powered systems in production.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals including APIs, data modeling, and reliability.
• Hands-on experience with RAG architectures, embeddings, chunking, and retrieval.
• Experience working with vector databases, document, and structured data stores.
• Native or near-native Greek speaker.

Nice to have

• Experience operating AI systems in production environments.
• Exposure to PHP, Go, Python, and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL (including pgvector) and MongoDB.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or microservices architectures.
• Experience in EdTech, LMS platforms, or complex SaaS products.
