Staff Software Engineer, Frontend (Fintech)

TL;DR

Staff Software Engineer (Fintech): You will be working on core systems underneath every frontend experience for hirify.global Prime with an accent on shared frontend frameworks and components, performance and reliability, and developer tooling. Focus on optimizing real-time data streams and improving the UI experience for serving real-time market and portfolio data.

Location: In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

Salary: $218,025—$256,500 USD

What you will do

• Design, build, and own core UI platform systems used across all frontend surfaces.
• Drive improvements in reliability, performance, and latency at the platform level.
• Build and evolve backend-for-frontend APIs (REST/GraphQL) that serve UI surfaces, with focus on scalability, security, and clean abstractions.
• Lead architecture and technical directions for improvements to real-time data streams (WebSocket/SSE).
• Partner closely with frontend engineers and product teams to understand scaling pain points, and translate them into platform solutions.
• Enable developer velocity by improving local dev, builds, CI/CD, testing, release pipelines, and observability.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experienced architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
• Passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together

Nice to have

• Experience with Blockchains (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum etc.)
• Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices
• Experience with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, Postgres
• Experience building financial, high reliability or security systems
