TL;DR
QA Coach (QA/Automation): Shaping and embedding a culture of quality across engineering, driving the adoption of quality practices from design to production with an accent on standardising QA processes, methodologies, and tooling. Focus on coaching teams on shift-left principles, leading test automation programs, and building/mentoring a team of QA Engineers.
Location: This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days a week in our London (Farringdon) office, and 2 days from home. Must be based in the UK.

What you will do
- Champion team ownership of quality and coach on shift-left practices across product, design, and engineering teams.
- Drive standardisation of QA processes, methodologies, and define key quality metrics.
- Oversee third-party quality delivery and ensure adherence to standards.
- Lead the automation programme for QA activities and drive tooling consistency.
- Support engineering community events, knowledge-sharing, and customer needs for software releases.
- Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of QA Engineers.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and frameworks (e.g., ISTQB, exploratory, risk-based testing).
- Proven experience designing and implementing test automation strategies with tooling (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
- Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and a DevOps or platform engineering environment.
- Familiarity with shift-left practices and ability to translate them into practical coaching.
- Experience defining and implementing quality metrics and KPIs at an organisational level.
- Understanding of software architecture and system design for technical quality conversations.
- Experience managing or overseeing third-party quality delivery or outsourced testing services.
- English: B2 required
