Data Annotation Specialist (AI)

Location: Remote within Canada; part-time independent contractor position.

Compensation: CA$30 per hour; minimum commitment of 16 hours per week.

What you will do

• Label and rank machine-learning data in German while maintaining data integrity and quality.
• Audit and correct language data, including text, images, JSON, TSV/CSV, and Markdown.
• Complete reading, text-based, and preference-based tasks according to project guidelines.
• Recommend improvements to German-language data quality and model performance.
• Provide feedback to cross-functional team members on German-language matters.
• Perform repetitive and precise annotation work with meticulous attention to detail.

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in German and excellent command of English.
• Expert reading and writing skills, assessed through a written test.
• Basic familiarity with JSON, TSV, CSV, and Markdown data manipulation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• High tolerance for repetitive and monotonous work.
• Ability to follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity, and work independently.
• Strong sense of urgency and time-management skills.
• Curiosity about technology and ability to approach problems creatively.
• Reliable laptop; the role requires bringing your own device.

Hiring process

• Initial screening of the resume and writing samples.
• Virtual annotation test including a writing sample and chatbot interaction.
• Short video screen with an Operations Team member, followed by an independent contractor agreement if selected.
