Location: hirify.global has hybrid office locations in Santa Barbara, CA, and Philadelphia (Wayne), PA, where team members typically come in three days a week. Additionally, they are hiring remote candidates located within specific US hiring hubs: Boston, Chicago, Denver, Kansas City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. Candidates must reside in one of these hybrid office cities or designated hiring hubs.

Salary: $139,000 - $200,000 a year

What you will do

• Serve as a domain expert in backend architecture, distributed systems, and high-throughput IO.
• Drive company-wide architectural patterns, platform strategy, and engineering standards.
• Independently design and deliver large-scale features impacting multiple products or services.
• Identify and eliminate sources of instability, latency, and operational risk.
• Mentor engineers across teams and elevate their understanding of architecture, debugging, reliability, and AI-era best practices.
• Partner closely with product, design, DevOps, and Data teams to translate complex technical ideas into user-centered solutions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building and scaling cloud-native, event-sourced, and microservice architectures with a deep focus on high-volume, asynchronous messaging systems.
• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js (specifically NestJS) for building modular, type-safe, and high-performance backend services.
• Proven track record of integrating LLMs and agentic tools to automate workflows and enhance developer velocity.
• Expert in SQL (PostgreSQL) schema design and optimization, with hands-on experience in containerized environments (Docker) and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• A strong commitment to testing, observability, and operational excellence.
• Candidates must be eligible for a government background check.

• Familiarity with Python.
