Senior Software Engineer (Distributed Systems, .NET): Building and optimizing high-load distributed backend services for a global identity security platform with an accent on system design, performance, and resiliency. Focus on architecting cloud-native capabilities, leading deep debugging efforts, and influencing architecture decisions across various engineering teams.

Location: Hybrid in Santa Clara, United States. Candidates must have US work authorization as visa sponsorship is not available. While relocation support isn’t available, candidates planning to move to the area are welcome.

Salary: $155,000–$190,000/year

What you will do

• Build and evolve distributed backend services in .NET to support global enterprise workloads.
• Architect new capabilities using cloud-native patterns and modern engineering practices.
• Improve system performance and resiliency across caching, async flows, and data pipelines.
• Lead deep debugging and profiling efforts, including load analysis and distributed tracing.
• Collaborate with platform, product, and cloud teams to influence architecture decisions.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a high-trust, high-ownership engineering culture.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in large-scale or enterprise environments.
• Experience designing and building large-scale, cloud-based backend systems.
• Fluent in .NET, or a strong Java engineer willing to ramp up quickly.
• Experience with distributed systems (caching, resiliency, async patterns, failover, load balancing).
• Strong understanding of API design and backend service integration.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment (2–3 days onsite in Santa Clara).

• Active Directory experience.
• Performance engineering experience.
• Experience in identity or security environments.
