TL;DR

Application Engineer II (Embedded Systems): Bringing up and validating UCIe IP on SoCs for internal and external customers with an accent on post-silicon validation, firmware, and system-level debugging. Focus on defining robust solutions, analyzing PHY performance, and driving technical communication from silicon bring-up to production.

Location: Onsite in Toronto, Canada. Occasional travel may be required.

Salary: $88,000–$94,000 annually

What you will do

  • Collaborate with various teams for post-silicon bring-up of Alphawave Mixed-Signal IPs on customer platforms and in-house test chips.
  • Drive technical communication with customers from silicon bring-up to production.
  • Define and implement robust solutions in collaboration with architects, hardware, validation, and software teams.
  • Perform system-level debugging using in-house SW and FW diagnostics and tools.
  • Interact with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, BERTs, protocol analyzers) for PHY performance analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering.
  • Solid debugging skills for firmware and system-level bring-up.
  • Experience with C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Experience in Python as a scripting language for test automation and debugging.
  • Experience working in ASIC design, verification, or post-silicon validation with high-speed IP interfaces (UCIe, DDR, PCIe, or Ethernet).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
