Salary: $159,900—$252,900 USD (in select locations)

What you will do

• Work with a globally distributed team focused on data storage mechanisms and query capabilities of hirify.globalsearch.
• Become an expert in the storage engine area, improving those areas based on your questions and instincts.
• Contribute full-time to hirify.globalsearch, building data-intensive new features, fixing bugs, and increasing testing coverage.
• Design and implement advanced algorithms and data structures, working at the system and hardware level.
• Engage with the global community for triaging and resolving issues and pull requests.
• Write idiomatic modern Java.

Requirements

• Strong core Java skills and are conversant in the standard library of data structures and concurrency constructs.
• Excellent understanding of concurrent and parallel programming principles.
• Excellent background in applied data processing (data structures, algorithms).
• Familiarity with storage systems and low-level abstractions in OS.
• Ability to work with a high level of autonomy, taking on projects from beginning to end.
• Solid software engineering foundations with a proven track record of designing and delivering high-quality solutions.
• Comfortable developing collaboratively, giving and receiving feedback on code, approaches, and APIs.
• Experience with data storage technologies like hirify.globalsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience building with hirify.globalsearch.
• Experience working on data storage technology.
• Experience designing, leading, and owning cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience working with open-source projects and familiarity with different styles of source control workflow and continuous integration.
