Location: Onsite in Madrid, Spain. The role is part of a newly formed Europe-based team.

What you will do

• Design and document distributed systems and microservices for Ring home security systems.
• Implement robust, maintainable code and serve as a technical lead for projects end-to-end.
• Solve challenging problems, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure customer value delivery.
• Mentor and guide other talented engineers on complex cloud development projects.
• Drive deployment, operation, and scaling of always-on distributed systems.

Requirements

• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience leading the architecture and design of new and current systems.
• Professional software development experience (non-internship).
• Proficiency in programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
• English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience in development within the last 3 years.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for the full software development life cycle.
