Tech Lead / Senior Java Engineer (Java): Design, build, and deliver large-scale resilient and scalable distributed services that process billions of events with an accent on architectural consistency, engineering excellence, and strategic decision-making. Focus on solving complex concurrency challenges, ensuring system reliability, and influencing product and engineering DevOps practices.

Location: Hybrid work model. Office located near the Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid. Must be based in Spain or willing to relocate to Spain.

What you will do

• Implement, test, deliver, and maintain hirify.global's data importing and exporting features.
• Lead the team in defining and evolving the technical direction, architecture, and engineering standards.
• Collaborate proactively with Product Management and other Engineering stakeholders to maintain high quality.
• Advocate for improvements to product, security, quality, and performance.
• Mentor and support other engineers, helping them grow technically and professionally.
• Handle L3 support requests and participate actively in agile ceremonials.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Java developer in SaaS projects.
• Strong experience with Microservices frameworks.
• Expertise with RESTful APIs and messaging systems like Kafka.
• Familiarity with Unit, integration, and E2E tests.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives or guide engineering teams.
• Professional-level English spoken and written (C1).

Nice to have

• Micronaut framework experience.
• CI/CD experience.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
