Solution Architect (Cloud)

TL;DR

Solution Architect (Cloud): Designing and optimizing infrastructure solutions for various industries with an accent on hybrid cloud and bare metal cloud infrastructure. Focus on technical discovery, supporting sales, and reporting product improvements to the product management team.

Location: Must be able to get to our Guildford-based office 4 days per week (Mondays to Thursdays). The office is located at 2000, Cathedral Square, Cathedral Hill, Guildford GU2 7YL, United Kingdom.

Salary: £100,000–£120,000 OTE per annum

What you will do

• Design overall infrastructure solutions and assist with product selection for customers.
• Conduct technical discovery with customers to understand challenges and define requirements.
• Support the sales team during the onboarding of potential new customers.
• Deliver technical presentations, demos, and screencasts to sales and customers.
• Report product improvement suggestions to the product management team.
• Manage stock availability and deployment timelines in collaboration with vendors.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
• Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Confident presenter with proven customer-facing experience.
• In-depth knowledge of networking, security, and system architecture (VLAN, RAID, CPU, hardware design, IP networking, IP routing, BGP).
• Ability to design scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solutions and create technical documentation.
• Work in Guildford at least 4 days a week and be available for business trips.
• Fluent English speaker.

Nice to have

• Cloud Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
• Experience with baremetal servers hardware.
• Basic scripting skills.
• STEM bachelor degree.
