Senior Network Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Network Engineer: Leading the long-term strategy and deployment of hirify.global's global network, physical access, and security infrastructure with an accent on security and employee experience. Focus on scaling global office deployments while ensuring the workforce is securely connected through robust monitoring and proactive network design.

Location: Hub-based in Burnaby or Toronto, with a minimum of twice per week in the office on Anchor Days.

Salary: $125,500 to $169,700 CAD

What you will do

• Build robust monitoring for the network and security infrastructure supporting global offices.
• Develop a long-term strategy for network and physical access at hirify.global, focusing on security and employee experience.
• Work with the Workplace Experience team on new office deployments, taking ownership of network, security camera, and physical access systems.
• Develop a firmware policy for network, security, and access systems to ensure devices are consistently up-to-date and stable.
• Manage the global Tailscale mesh network through GitOps.
• Integrate the office management platform to the physical access platform for a seamless employee experience.

Requirements

• Significant experience administering and deploying Aruba networking equipment.
• Fluency in the fundamentals of network design (VLAN configuration, DHCP, WAP/WiFi setup, redundant gateways).
• Strong understanding of AWS / Cloud networking principles such as VPCs, load balancing, security groups, etc.
• Familiarity with virtual mesh networking with a tool such as Tailscale.
• Demonstrate a keen interest in improving your craft by using AI.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with KISI physical access systems
• Experience deploying Unifi Ubiquiti enterprise network hardware
• Practical experience deploying and managing Tailscale across a global workforce.
