TL;DR

Applied Scientist Intern (AI): Designing and developing end-to-end systems for Amazon Science, creating roadmaps and driving production-level projects with an accent on designing new algorithms, models, or other technical solutions and deploying them into production. Focus on solving complex business problems with diverse groups and cross-functional teams.

Location: Onsite in the EMEA region (Austria, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, South Africa, UAE, and UK). These are not remote internships.

What you will do

• Own the design and development of end-to-end systems.
• Write technical white papers, create roadmaps, and drive production-level projects that support Amazon Science.
• Work closely with Amazon scientists and other interns to develop solutions and deploy them into production.
• Design new algorithms, models, or other technical solutions.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, or related fields.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people and cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems.

Nice to have

• Have publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Experience in solving business problems through machine learning, data mining, and statistical algorithms.
