VOID Interactive is a fully remote game development studio behind the best-selling FPS Ready or Not, with over 13 million copies sold across all platforms. We are a distributed team of 70+ passionate developers from around the world, focused on delivering deep, immersive, and high-quality player experiences.
We are looking for a Senior Level Designer to join a new team working on an unannounced project currently in development. In this role, you will own the creation of large-scale, engaging 3D environments, taking levels from early block-out through final polish. You will collaborate closely with artists, designers, and engineers while helping guide junior designers and uphold a high bar for quality and consistency.
🚀 Responsibilities
• Design high-quality 3D game spaces and large-scale environments that meet artistic, technical, and gameplay requirements
• Create readable, engaging, and navigable level layouts with strong pacing, encounter design, and player flow
• Own entire levels from concept to final implementation including block-outs, scripting, optimisation, and polish
• Collaborate closely with environment artists, technical artists, systems designers, and engineers to ensure seamless integration and performance
• Develop and maintain level design pipelines, documentation, and best practices
• Mentor junior designers, provide detailed feedback, and help establish quality standards across the team
• Implement, test, and iterate on levels directly in-engine to validate gameplay feel, navigation, performance, and stability
• Support the wider design and art teams through clear communication and reliable delivery in a fast-paced production environment
📚 Required Skills
• 3–6 years of professional experience in level design
• 5+ years of experience designing 3D game spaces or large-scale environments
• At least one shipped title as a Level Designer or World Designer
• Strong understanding of player psychology, pacing, gameplay flow, and visual composition
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members
• High level of ownership, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a remote-first, fast-moving production environment
👍 Nice to Have
• Experience working with Unreal Engine 5
• Knowledge of world partitioning, blueprint scripting, and level streaming
• Experience designing grounded, realistic, urban environments
