What you will do

• Design, build, and improve backend services using Kotlin in a cloud-native environment.
• Work on event-driven services that process continuous streams of data from real-world energy systems.
• Design APIs, data models, and service interactions for internal and external use.
• Balance speed with robustness, creating flexible and reliable systems.
• Collaborate with product managers and senior engineers to transform problems into maintainable solutions.
• Gradually take ownership of platform components and increase responsibility over time.

Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of professional experience as a backend software engineer.
• Professional experience building backend systems with Kotlin or Java, using modern patterns.
• Experience with event-driven or service-oriented architectures.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
• Comfort working with modern developer platforms (e.g., managed databases, serverless components).
• Experience collaborating effectively in distributed teams across time zones.

Nice to have

• Exposure to streaming platforms like Kafka.
• Interest in or experience with energy systems, complex domains, or real-world infrastructure.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with time-series data or large-scale data processing.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and containerized runtimes (Docker/Kubernetes).
