Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

What you will do

• Lead development of new features and enhancements for Ruby on Rails-based APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices.
• Participate in architecture and design discussions to build scalable and robust systems.
• Mentor and review work of junior engineers, fostering continuous improvement.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and technical debt.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong proficiency in Ruby, Rails, and related web technologies.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of database technologies: PostgreSQL, MySQL, and GraphQL.
• Experience with testing frameworks (RSpec and/or Minitest).
• Understanding of performance optimization, observability, monitoring, and scaling best practices.
• Understanding of Git, Github, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization.
• Knowledge of background job processing (Amazon SQS, Shoryuken, Sidekiq).
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular).
