Platform Engineer

TL;DR

Platform Engineer: responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our quantitative development platform and ensuring its high availability and scalability with an accent on infrastructure provisioning and management processes. Focus on platform reliability, security, and cost optimization.

Location: Must be based in New York, New York, United States

Salary: $150,000 - $180,000

What you will do

• Collaborate with quant and development teams to ensure seamless application deployments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management processes.
• Contribute and lead efforts to continuously improve the platform reliability, security, and cost optimization.
• Participate in L3 on-call rotations and incident response processes.
• Mentor and upskill team members on cloud-native technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience architecting end‑to‑end solutions in partnership with our quant and dev teams
• Strong coding skills in at least one language, ideally Python, but open to other languages.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Extensive experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure) and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines leveraging DevOps practices.

Nice to have

• Ability to understand and model business workflows in a financial institution, and reflect them in platform and tooling decisions.
• Passionate about cloud-native technologies and has a strong desire to learn and grow.
• Has a deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and practices.
• Is adept at translating complex requirements into robust technical solutions.
