Backend Engineer (Trading)

TL;DR

Backend Engineer (Trading): Building and optimizing high-load backend services for a Virtual Power Plant, improving energy market integrations and smart device utilization with an accent on handling market integrations across various suppliers and geographies. Focus on developing predictive and optimization models for diverse device types and markets, and contributing to cross-collaborative projects.

Location: Hybrid. Offices in Amsterdam, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo. Must be able to meet colleagues in one of the offices on a regular basis.

What you will do

• Collaborate with other backend engineers, traders, and quants in a small team environment, contributing to larger cross-collaborative projects.
• Develop and maintain services to handle energy market integrations across many suppliers and geographies.
• Improve the utilization, accuracy, and automation of the smart device portfolio.
• Work with predictive and optimization models across various device types, geographies, and markets.

Requirements

• Experience in building long-lived and larger distributed services in a multinational environment.
• Comfortable working with a tech stack including C#.Net, Python, AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, Kafka.
• English: Fluent (C1) communication required.
• Must be able to meet colleagues in one of our offices (Amsterdam, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo) on a regular basis.
• Ability to proactively understand how to make best use of your time and enjoy both close collaboration as well as autonomy.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with energy trading or smart device control.
