What you will do
- Own the end-to-end architecture for low-latency risk decisioning, including signals, rules, and ML models.
- Build and deploy ML in production while partnering with data science teams on feature engineering and monitoring.
- Modernize platform components, including data pipelines, microservices, and CI/CD controls.
- Drive build-vs-buy evaluations for new vendor solutions against internal performance and cost benchmarks.
- Establish SLOs, observability, and safety mechanisms to ensure system reliability and compliance.
- Communicate technical strategy to executive leadership and mentor senior engineering staff.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years leading architecture for real-time, high-scale systems.
- Proven experience building and operating fraud or risk management systems in a production environment.
- Hands-on production ML experience, including feature pipelines, online inference, and monitoring.
- Strong cloud-native engineering skills in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, Go, or Python.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.

- Experience applying LLM or agentic techniques to fraud detection.
- Background in graph or sequence modeling at scale.
- Experience in marketplace, travel, or e-commerce industries.
- Deep expertise in cloud cost/performance tuning and capacity planning.
