What you will do

• Own the end-to-end architecture for low-latency risk decisioning, including signals, rules, and ML models.
• Build and deploy ML in production while partnering with data science teams on feature engineering and monitoring.
• Modernize platform components, including data pipelines, microservices, and CI/CD controls.
• Drive build-vs-buy evaluations for new vendor solutions against internal performance and cost benchmarks.
• Establish SLOs, observability, and safety mechanisms to ensure system reliability and compliance.
• Communicate technical strategy to executive leadership and mentor senior engineering staff.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years leading architecture for real-time, high-scale systems.
• Proven experience building and operating fraud or risk management systems in a production environment.
• Hands-on production ML experience, including feature pipelines, online inference, and monitoring.
• Strong cloud-native engineering skills in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficiency in Java, Scala, Go, or Python.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

• Experience applying LLM or agentic techniques to fraud detection.
• Background in graph or sequence modeling at scale.
• Experience in marketplace, travel, or e-commerce industries.
• Deep expertise in cloud cost/performance tuning and capacity planning.
