Location: Hybrid model based in Stockholm, Sweden. The majority of time will be spent in the office.

What you will do

• Define backend strategy and ensure scalable, maintainable architecture across the product area.
• Act as a primary partner to engineering and product leads, translating business requirements into elegant, performant backend solutions.
• Lead early-stage technical discovery for important initiatives, mapping out execution paths for multiple teams.
• Promote backend excellence by championing best practices in API design, system resilience, security, and observability.
• Mentor and coach technical capabilities across the tech organization.
• Align backend frameworks, tooling, and conventions across teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with modern backend technologies, preferably Go (or Kotlin/Python).
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
• Proven track record of leading complex technical projects from initial strategy through to execution at scale.
• Deep experience building scalable and reliable software systems.
• Balance hands-on coding with big-picture systems thinking.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders and thrive in a cross-functional, agile environment.

Nice to have

• Experience building tools for creators or working within a media-heavy environment.
• Experience working closely with Data Scientists and Machine Learning engineers.
• Experience with cloud Infrastructure (GCP & K8s).
• Experience with search systems and Elasticsearch.
