TL;DR

Asset Artist (Game Art): Creating high-quality CG assets for visual effects projects using Unreal Engine with an accent on realistic modeling, texturing, and optimization. Focus on collaborating with the VFX team, ensuring consistency across projects, and solving technical challenges within DCC programs and Unreal Engine.

Location: Remote candidates may be considered; however, preference will be given to those who can work in Los Angeles. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.

What you will do

  • Develop CG assets matching the look of realistic practical assets, meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborate with teams on creating characters, environments, vehicles, and props in Unreal Engine.
  • Create high-quality assets from concept to final model and surfacing, optimized for real-time environments.
  • Ingest internally created or third-party assets into projects.
  • Utilize Unreal Engine advancements to expedite asset development.
  • Address revisions with creative and technical solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with real-time content creation.
  • Excellent portfolio showcasing modeling and texturing expertise.
  • Proficient with Unreal Engine and DCC programs like Maya, 3ds Max, Zbrush, Houdini, Blender, etc.
  • Experience with asset optimization processes.
  • Ability to work in various art styles and gather references.
  • Strong artistic understanding of anatomy, proportions, lighting, and color theory.

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a Volume, LED Stage, Mocap stage, and with Virtual Cameras.
  • Experience photogrammetry and scanning.
  • Experience with lighting, sequencer, camera, layout, FX, and animation in Unreal Engine.
  • Experience with advanced rigging and control rigs within DCC and Unreal Engine.
