Software Engineering Lead (Embedded/Defense)

Location: Binghamton - Industrial Park - L3. Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS).

Salary: $144,300–$168,300

What you will do

• Coordinate with program leads to ensure successful program completion.
• Develop software products across the full software lifecycle.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to project team members, including intermediate and junior engineers.
• Ensure program plans are followed and artifacts are created for each delivery cycle phase.
• Understand the overall software activities for the project.
• Plan tasks and resources, including development of BOEs, IMP, and IMS.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years software development experience.
• Demonstrated programming experience in C/C++.
• Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience supporting military or defense programs.
• Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance granted or renewed in the last 5 years.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to employment.
• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience with earned value management systems.
• Experience with Software Change Control, Change Management, and CI/CD tools (Atlassian suite, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins).
• Experience in an Agile/SAFe leadership role (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Release Train Engineer).
• Experience architecting, designing, implementing, integrating, and debugging OO C++ software running on Real-Time Operating systems (VxWorks, Integrity, Real Time Embedded Linux).
