TL;DR

Focus on partnering with the Art Director to pioneer the game's vision, developing original concepts digitally, and balancing artistic aspects with technical constraints.

hirify.global is a volunteer-based, all-online global game development team creating an open-world RPG using Unreal Engine 5.

What you will do

  • Partner with the Art Director and other team members to pioneer the game's vision.
  • Design, create, and develop high-quality digital sketches and quick iterations.
  • Create and develop original concepts of characters, environments, and props.
  • Attend weekly team meetings on Slack.
  • Present concepts and ideas to the team for discussion.
  • Achieve a balance between artistic aspects and technical constraints, and adjust artwork styles to meet the game’s art direction.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of design and drawing programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Procreate.
  • Excellent understanding of art fundamentals: lighting, composition, architecture, human anatomy.
  • Ability to create high-quality concept art and illustrations of characters, creatures, environments, and architecture.
  • Ability to give and take feedback professionally and apply it to art and design.
  • Flexibility and adaptive capabilities, with the ability to collaborate as part of a team.
  • English: C1+ proficiency required.

Nice to have

  • Experience in game design or game development industry.
  • Shipped 1 or more video game titles.
  • Educational background in art, design, or related fields.
  • Experience in Unreal Engine 5.
