What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance Java services (Spring Boot WebFlux/MVC) for real-time trading operations and massive data throughput.
• Own the full stack from architecture to production, including CI/CD pipelines and deployment to Kubernetes (AWS EKS).
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to deliver impactful features and actively participate in product development.
• Implement comprehensive observability (Grafana, Honeycomb, OpenTelemetry) to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Drive technical excellence in performance, scalability, and security, troubleshooting and resolving production incidents.
• Mentor engineers, lead technical discussions, and contribute to team-wide knowledge sharing and raising the bar.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality, challenging the status quo and shaping technical direction.

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with Java (Spring Boot, REST/gRPC, reactive patterns).
• Battle-tested experience running production workloads on Kubernetes (AWS EKS preferred) and debugging critical issues.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching layers (Redis), understanding their optimal use.
• Solid DevOps experience, including CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and container orchestration.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservice architectures, and relevant observability tooling.
• A security-first mindset integrated into design and coding practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent real-world experience.
• Strong English-language communication skills and ability to thrive in globally distributed, cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
• This is a hybrid position (3 days onsite, 2 days remote work) in Kraków, Poland.
