Senior Backend Software Engineer (Go): Building and optimizing high-load APIs and backend services for products that enhance clients' experiences with an accent on API design, performance, and scalability. Location: Remote (Global). While full remote work is permitted globally, there is a flexible-first/hybrid option to work 1 day per week from the Athens, GR office.

What you will do

• Build and optimize APIs and backend services that power hirify.global products.
• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure backend systems using Go.
• Take ownership of APIs throughout their full lifecycle, from design and development to continuous improvement.
• Work closely with the engineering team to deliver meaningful results.

Requirements

• Proven experience building backend systems using Go or similar languages (e.g., Java, C#, Ruby, Node.js).
• Strong understanding of API design principles, including authentication, versioning, error handling, rate limiting, and security best practices.
• Experience developing and maintaining production APIs with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Quality-first mindset, with hands-on experience in testing practices such as TDD and writing well-tested code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and deployment automation.
• English: All stages of the recruitment process will be conducted in English.

Nice to have

• Interest or experience working with AI-enabled products, agent-based systems, or integrating APIs with LLM-driven tools.
