What you will do
- Build and lead a data protection team, including hiring, mentoring, and development.
- Develop and maintain the enterprise data classification framework and labeling strategy.
- Establish data governance policies and procedures and oversee the data stewardship program.
- Design and implement data protection controls across all data stores.
- Guide the implementation of DLP solutions, eDiscovery programs, and data inventory initiatives.
- Develop risk assessment methodologies for data protection and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of privacy or information security experience.
- 2+ years of specialized experience in data protection.
- Team management experience.
- Deep understanding of data protection technologies and tools, including data classification, eDiscovery platforms, and cloud security controls.
- Experience developing and managing program budgets and translating technical requirements into business value.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience and certifications (CIPM, CIPP, CISSP).
- Experience with regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA) and developing data governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of data lifecycle management and privacy by design principles.
- Ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational change.
