Senior Character Modeler (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Senior Character Modeler (Gamedev): Responsible for executing complex CG/3D modeling of characters and creatures for animated film production, focusing on advanced proxy models in line with the Director's vision. Focus on constructing organic and hard surface models, digital sculpting in Z-brush and maintaining workflows between Maya and sculpting packages.

Location: San Blas-Canillejas, Madrid (Hybrid). Must have a valid work permit for Spain/Europe.

What you will do

• Construct organic and hard surface models based on art department reference, faithful to the production's style.
• Define the three-dimensional form and two-dimensional silhouette of models, resolving unspecified details as needed.
• Create, revise, and maintain digital character assets, supporting end users and incorporating feedback from directors and supervisors.
• Ensure digital assets meet studio standards for appearance, user-friendliness, performance, data integrity, and robustness.
• Support and maintain dialogue with Technical Directors, Riggers, and Animators using the digital assets.
• Ensure weekly modeling department milestones and production deadlines are met.

Requirements

• Senior level candidate with 7+ years of production experience in animated features/episodic content.
• Portfolio demonstrating mature, graphic stylization of reality, similar to Spiderverse, Entergalactic, Arcane, and The Witness.
• Solid knowledge of digital sculpting in Z-brush and/or Mudbox, maintaining workflows between Maya and these packages.
• Solid experience and understanding of Maya in a production-based environment.
• Valid work permit for Spain.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in Houdini procedural modeling.
