TL;DR

Location: Remote within British Columbia (BC), with hybrid and in-studio options available for artists within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and have resided within BC as of December 31, 2025.

Salary: CAD $4,800–$5,600 monthly (based on weekly rate of $1,200–$1,400 CAD).

What you will do

• Design and animate effects using Houdini for elements like smoke, clouds, fire, lava, and water.
• Meet technical and aesthetic project standards.
• Take direction from the FX Supervisor, Leads, and FX TDs.
• Collaborate with DFX supervisor, lighting team, and CG Supervisor for technical and creative approaches.
• Produce look tests based on provided concepts.
• Complete tasks within show structure and production deadlines.

Requirements

• 1+ years of industry experience working on an episodic show.
• Knowledge of Houdini Dynamic tools.
• Understanding of physical dynamics and natural phenomena.
• Strong technical skills within a show structure.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve.
• Experience rendering with Mantra.
• Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Must have resided within BC as of December 31, 2025.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in the CG animation industry.
• Basic knowledge of Nuke.
• Basic knowledge of Renderman and/or Katana.
