TL;DR

Head of Technology (GameDev): Owning Technical Excellence, Security and Privacy, and Platform Operations across all products with an accent on architectural decisions, performance, reliability, and quality. Focus on mentoring engineering leaders, leading incident response, and turning risks into clear roadmaps.

Location: Remote within British Columbia, Canada. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. In-person attendance required 2-6 times a year.

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 USD

What you will do

• Drive technical excellence, quality, and performance across all products.
• Lead security, privacy, and platform operations, including incident management and reliability.
• Define and improve observability, developer productivity, and SDLC practices.
• Manage cloud budgets (FinOps) and SRED processes.
• Mentor engineering leaders and individual contributors.
• Partner cross-functionally to align technical plans with business goals.

Requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering with 3+ years as a Principal-level platform/architecture leader.
• Proven experience operating high-availability, high-throughput consumer systems.
• Strong AWS background and infrastructure-as-code proficiency (Terraform or CDK).
• Expertise in Security, privacy, SRE, and performance engineering.
• Experience with data architecture across relational and non-relational systems.
• Production experience applying AI to speed development and operations.

Nice to have

• Unity, HTML5/JavaScript, and/or PHP game platform experience.
• Prior responsibility for FinOps and vendor negotiations.
• Experience running SRED or similar R&D incentive programs.
• Experience with Mongo and/or MySQL.
