Senior Technical UI Designer (GameDev)

TL;DR

Senior Technical UI Designer (GameDev): Proposing functional design solutions and designing functional prototypes for UI development in a game project with an accent on animating interface elements in Unreal Engine and developing UI development pipelines. Focus on serving as the main point of contact for technical UI issues and mentoring UI designers within a multidisciplinary team.

Location: Truly flexible working: remote (for residents of the province of Quebec), hybrid or in person, the choice is yours.

What you will do

• Propose functional design solutions and develop technical foundations for UI.
• Design functional prototypes to test and validate user experience.
• Animate interface elements within the Unreal game engine.
• Serve as the main point of contact for technical UI issues on the project.
• Mentor and support UI designers by providing guidance and sharing best practices.
• Develop the UI development pipeline in Unreal in collaboration with the technical leadership team.

Requirements

• College diploma in graphic design, UX/UI design, digital arts, or a related field with equivalent experience.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in UI design or other relevant experience, including on AAA projects.
• Experience mentoring teams.
• Experience in technical UI development and solid experience with Unreal 5.X.
• Ability to design interfaces for different audiences and platforms (console, PC, mobile).
• Excellent command of creation tools (Figma, Photoshop, or equivalents).
• Excellent command of both written and spoken French and English.
• Available to travel internationally when needed.
