Principal Engineer - NG-SIEM Search (Cybersecurity): Evolving and applying the technical vision for large-scale NG-SIEM search systems, accommodating over 100 PB/day of data ingestion and millions of queries per hour. Focus on designing scalable architectures, driving technical strategy, and delivering key system components for a global cybersecurity platform.

Location: Hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site in Sunnyvale, CA; Redmond, WA; New York City; Austin, TX (USA) or Toronto, Canada.

Salary: For U.S. candidates: $195,000 - $290,000 USD annually. For Canadian candidates: $210,000 - $320,000 CAD annually.

What you will do

• Evolve and apply the technical vision for NG-SIEM to handle massive data ingestion and query intensity.
• Lead by example in customer focus and operational excellence.
• Deliver key system components as an individual contributor or as part of a project team.
• Demonstrate promising approaches via proof-of-concept software and ensure project delivery.
• Partner with peers to develop and execute the NG-SIEM technical and product strategy and roadmap.
• Engage with principal engineers across hirify.global to ensure coherent technical strategy across Falcon modules.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining multiple software products/systems/releases in a SaaS delivery model.
• 8+ years of experience as an engineer in a force-multiplying position (delivery through others).
• Current hands-on experience (3+ years) owning a distributed system handling tens of billions of requests/day or >1 PB data/day.
• Demonstrated track record of operational excellence and significant impact on customer experience.
• Experience working with and growing strong engineers within remote teams.
• Ability to communicate crisply at all levels.
• Must maintain legal entitlement to work in Canada for Canadian positions.

Nice to have

• Hands-on development experience in Scala.
• Solid grounding in at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Expertise with Kafka.
• Exposure to Log Management or cybersecurity products.
• Machine learning and data science familiarity and hands-on experience.
