What you will do

• Design, develop, and build custom digital circuits for a CPU, including memory and caches.
• Optimize custom circuits for CPU power, performance, area, timing, and yield goals through schematic entry and simulation.
• Create block-level DFT models, develop memory test tools, and improve design flows and methodologies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to report design progress and resolve performance and CPU design issues.
• Optimize performance, power, and area, reduce leakage of CPU circuits, and drive characterization of memory instances.
• Work with CPU architecture and layout teams to design circuits for best functionality, robustness, and electrical capabilities.

Requirements

• Education: Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or STEM with 4+ years of relevant experience, OR PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Complementary MOS (CMOS) circuits design and digital logic optimization (2+ years).
• Experience with circuit design trade-offs for power, performance, and area.
• Experience with Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI).
• Familiarity with low power implementation techniques.
• Experience with memory design.
