What you will do

• Own and optimize D365 F&O, ensuring full utilization and continuous improvement across all finance processes.
• Identify, design, and configure system enhancements to maximize automation, accuracy, and efficiency for UK and international entities.
• Lead and develop a small finance systems team, providing clear direction and effective prioritization.
• Ensure day-to-day system stability, including incident management, issue resolution, user access, controls, and master data governance.
• Partner with finance, technology, and business teams to gather requirements, translate needs into system solutions, and deliver cross-functional improvements.
• Drive process automation and system integrations, ensuring seamless connectivity between D365 and other finance systems.
• Manage system configuration, testing, and deployment, working closely with external partners.
• Maintain strong governance and compliance, ensuring data integrity, audit readiness, and adherence to standards.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with D365 Finance & Operations, including deep knowledge of core finance modules, configuration, and optimisation.
• Proven experience designing and implementing system enhancements that improve automation and system performance.
• Strong understanding of finance systems architecture, integrations, and data flows.
• Demonstrable people leadership experience, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing finance systems teams.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting within a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across finance, technology, and the wider business.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• A proactive, delivery-focused mindset, with evidence of driving meaningful system and process improvements.
• Must work from the office in Edinburgh, UK, a minimum of 60% of the time over a 12-week period.

• Experience with ZIP Procurement and AP systems.
• SAP Concur and Pigment experience.
• Knowledge of workflow management and optimisation.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps for managing change and release processes.
• Experience with Financial Reporter, Power BI, and Microsoft data infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, SQL scripting, Visual Studio, and virtual environments.
• Experience managing finance systems licensing, vendor relationships, and third-party partners.
