Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Ruby/Rails): Building and optimizing high-load backend services and user interfaces for a data platform powering safe and fair decisions with an accent on API design, database performance, and scalability. Focus on microservices architecture, solving complex concurrency challenges, and ensuring system reliability under heavy traffic.

Location: Hybrid (San Francisco, CA, Denver, CO, Nashville, TN, or Santiago, Chile). Individuals are expected to work from the office 3 days a week. Relocation stipend may be available for those willing to relocate to a hirify.global hub location in the US or Chile.

Salary: $185,000–$218,000 USD (San Francisco, CA base salary or on-target earnings)

What you will do

• Design, build, and launch new products collaboratively with customers, engineers, and leaders.
• Take full ownership of end-to-end application development, from idea to delivery.
• Build and improve APIs, including integration with third-party services.
• Implement a customer-centric, product-first approach by understanding needs and developing useful features.
• Ensure code reliability and maintainability through testing, reviews, and best practices.
• Build scalable APIs and asynchronous event-based architectures for high traffic.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in computer science or electrical engineering.
• 6+ years of fullstack software development experience.
• Advanced knowledge in Ruby (Ruby on Rails) / Javascript (React), or similar languages/frameworks.
• Experience building scalable technical architecture (10mm+ users), including observability tooling and container orchestration.
• Amazing product sense and an experimentation mindset.
• Experience founding or holding early roles at successful fast-paced startups.

Nice to have

• Experience with trust & safety, IDV, background check products or criminal data.
• Experience with data analysis and processing.
• Experience building and working with scrapers and scraping technology.
