Lead Backend Engineer (Ruby on Rails/Go)

Location: Hybrid work in Kaunas or Vilnius, Lithuania.

Salary: €6,542–€8,842 gross per month.

What you will do

• Develop platform capabilities that help all Marketplace engineers build scalable systems.
• Investigate and improve overall system stability and performance.
• Collaborate with the Product Engineering and Infrastructure Engineering teams.
• Consult other engineers on how to build robust systems with high availability.
• Craft code that affects more than 80M+ users and handles 10M+ requests per minute.
• Participate in on-call rotation every 5-6 weeks.

Requirements

• Experience building and supporting large-scale applications.
• Good understanding of how infrastructure and code work together.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in spoken and written English.
• Analytical and acute problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Structures and Algorithms.

Nice to have

• Experience with Distributed Systems.
• Experience with event-driven architecture.
• Experience with performance optimization and monitoring.
