What you will do

• Maintain and develop critical data applications, scoping and implementing architectural improvements for long-term scalability.
• Expand the suite of self-service monitoring tools and alerts to facilitate issue debugging and root cause analysis.
• Design and build key operational reporting pipelines and dashboards for global energy markets teams.
• Manage processes for capturing, preparing, and loading new data into the centralized data lake.
• Collaborate with international teams to standardize code and share engineering best practices.
• Take ownership of data platform enhancements to ensure system stability and reliability.

Requirements

• Proven experience and proficiency with SQL, Python, and Airflow.
• Ability to work in the London office 2-3 days per week.
• Strong ability to design scalable databases and APIs (e.g., Django, FastAPI).
• Experience with DataOps tools including Kubernetes, Docker, Spark, and monitoring solutions like DataDog or Grafana.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into efficient technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration and documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt for pipeline modeling.
• Understanding of energy market processes or a strong passion for Net Zero initiatives.
• Exposure to cloud-native data architectures on AWS or similar environments.
