What you will do
- Maintain and develop critical data applications, scoping and implementing architectural improvements for long-term scalability.
- Expand the suite of self-service monitoring tools and alerts to facilitate issue debugging and root cause analysis.
- Design and build key operational reporting pipelines and dashboards for global energy markets teams.
- Manage processes for capturing, preparing, and loading new data into the centralized data lake.
- Collaborate with international teams to standardize code and share engineering best practices.
- Take ownership of data platform enhancements to ensure system stability and reliability.
Requirements
- Proven experience and proficiency with SQL, Python, and Airflow.
- Ability to work in the London office 2-3 days per week.
- Strong ability to design scalable databases and APIs (e.g., Django, FastAPI).
- Experience with DataOps tools including Kubernetes, Docker, Spark, and monitoring solutions like DataDog or Grafana.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into efficient technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration and documentation.
Nice to have
- Experience with dbt for pipeline modeling.
- Understanding of energy market processes or a strong passion for Net Zero initiatives.
- Exposure to cloud-native data architectures on AWS or similar environments.
