Software Engineer (Java, Search API)

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Java, Search API): Designing and developing high-quality software solutions for the hirify.global Search API with an accent on system optimizations, performance, and scalability. Focus on microservices architecture, complex search-related projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Location: Hybrid in Lodz, Poland. On-site work required two days a week, with the remaining three days flexible between office and home. Options available to work from home country and abroad for a set number of days each year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions for the hirify.global Search API team.
• Participate in complex search-related projects from concept to deployment.
• Contribute to system optimizations and performance improvements for search results.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience in Java software development.
• Understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of search algorithms, data structures, and system design principles.
• Familiarity with search technologies such as Elasticsearch.
