What you will do

• Design and evolve PostgreSQL schemas, optimize queries, and implement indexing strategies to ensure scalability.
• Build new integrations between the hirify.global platform and external systems, APIs, and workflows.
• Improve backend latency, throughput, and fault tolerance across the stack.
• Write clean, well-tested code and establish standards for migrations, documentation, and testing.
• Participate in monitoring, debugging, and incident response to resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance, and Security teams to deliver regulatory-compliant features.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong backend focus.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and strong experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, performance tuning).
• Strong understanding of backend maintainability, refactoring, and technical debt management.
• Ability to work from Vienna (Hybrid) or be based within the EU (Remote).
• English proficiency for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Prisma, Next.js, and GraphQL (urql or Apollo).
• Familiarity with AWS (S3, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong testing habits using Jest, Cucumber, or Playwright.
• Experience in regulated industries like healthcare or finance.
• Knowledge of Kotlin and Spring.
