Data Architect

TL;DR

Data Architect: Designing and influencing data strategy and architecture for a large organization with an accent on scalable solutions, data governance, and modern cloud platforms. Focus on setting long-term data direction and translating architectural decisions into practical delivery.

Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in Liverpool, UK)

Salary: £80,000–£100,000 per annum

What you will do

• Shape the organisation's data landscape and strategic direction.
• Design data architectures within complex, enterprise environments.
• Define architectural standards and support delivery teams.
• Translate architectural decisions into practical, scalable solutions.
• Influence how data is designed, governed, and leveraged.
• Work within a Data and Analytics team alongside data engineers and governance specialists.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing data architectures in enterprise environments.
• Experience contributing to data strategy and hands-on architectural design.
• Understanding of modern data architecture patterns and approaches.
• Solid grasp of data engineering practices, including integration, transformation, and pipelines.
• Good awareness of data governance principles, data quality, and ownership.
• Experience with modern data tooling and cloud platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Confident in working with and influencing stakeholders across engineering and architecture teams.

Nice to have

• Previous experience working in a highly regulated environment.
