Platform Engineer

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain internal services, tools, and workflows that enable engineering teams to deliver software safely and consistently.
• Develop and evolve infrastructure automation and deployment systems such as CI/CD building blocks, deployment orchestration, environment provisioning, and platform APIs/CLIs.
• Build and operate cloud and Kubernetes platform capabilities with an emphasis on automation, repeatability, and guardrails.
• Measure and improve reliability through instrumentation, observability, and platform-level standards.
• Partner with engineering teams to understand friction points and turn those needs into reusable platform capabilities.

Requirements

• Proven software engineering experience and proficiency in one or more of: Python, Go, Java, Rust, and/or .NET.
• Experience implementing and supporting large, internet-facing distributed systems, ideally in Kubernetes environments.
• Experience operating and debugging cloud-based stacks (AWS preferred).
• Strong fundamentals in infrastructure-as-code and automated configuration/automation (e.g., Terraform/CloudFormation and related tooling).
• A track record of building maintainable, stable, scalable systems and treating internal tooling like real software products.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience building “platform primitives” (self-service workflows, templates, golden paths, internal portals/CLIs, policy/guardrails).
• Familiarity with networking concepts (routing, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL/big data systems.
• Open-source contributions or maintaining your own projects.
• B.S. in a computer-related field.
