Location: Onsite in Shanghai, China (5 days in the office)

What you will do

• Lead a team of engineers in developing core server systems and features for an unannounced title.
• Design and implement features that power large-scale, real-time game experiences.
• Work on complex technical challenges involving real-time interaction, large-scale systems, and a persistent shared world.
• Ensure systems can support tens of millions of players.
• Develop and optimize large-scale data processing pipelines.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java for building production-grade services, with strong knowledge of performance tuning and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark for developing and optimizing large-scale data processing pipelines.
• Experience with at least one major OLAP technology such as ClickHouse, StarRocks, MaxCompute, or Presto.
• Must work 5 days in the office in Shanghai, China.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with columnar database internals.
• Experience with Apache Beam, Kubernetes, or Airflow.
• Familiarity with Chinese data compliance regulations (data residency, export restrictions, security practices).
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with legal teams on regulatory and compliance requirements.
