What you will do

• Deliver new backend features with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Maintain, optimize, and improve existing services and infrastructure.
• Design, deploy, and operate backend services across AWS, Cloudflare, and other environments.
• Implement and evolve monitoring and observability using Sentry, OpenTelemetry, logging, and alerting.
• Investigate and resolve production issues across distributed systems and lead root cause analysis.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, documentation, and infrastructure planning.

Requirements

• 8+ years of overall professional experience in backend development.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, system design, and backend architecture.
• Fluency in Node.js backend development with a strong grasp of software engineering principles (SOLID).
• Strong understanding of database fundamentals, indexing, consistency, and transactions.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and backend service deployment.
• Proficiency with Redis, including caching, pub/sub, and performance tuning.
• Experience implementing monitoring and observability using Sentry and OpenTelemetry.
• Comfortable working in timezone ±2 hours from UK time (CET ±4 hours).

• Experience working in startup environments or small, high-autonomy engineering teams.
