What you will do

• Own and evolve the technology strategy aligned with Group and Commercial business goals
• Provide thought leadership and architectural guidance to business and technology teams
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and third-party vendors
• Promote and evangelize the Bank’s strategies across platforms and functions
• Drive transformation initiatives in an agile environment
• Ensure architecture decisions support business outcomes and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Location: Must be able to work hybrid with presence in Bristol or Edinburgh offices
• English: Proficient communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience in technology architecture within regulated industries, ideally financial services
• Knowledge of domain-driven design, microservices, cloud technologies, DevOps, CI/CD, cybersecurity, and modern data paradigms
• Understanding of Commercial banking domain, market trends, and regulatory landscape
• Strong leadership, storytelling, and relationship-building skills

Nice to have

• Awareness of emerging technologies such as Generative AI and Quantum computing
• Experience influencing executive-level stakeholders
