What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain the internal back-office platform PQ for player management and operational workflows.
• Develop backend services using Java, Spring, and modern open-source technologies in a continuous delivery environment.
• Work with event-driven and distributed systems ensuring correctness, idempotency, and reliability.
• Own complex domains such as player accounts, events, triggers, flags, reporting, and internal tooling.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data teams, compliance, and operations to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor team members to raise code quality and system design standards.

Requirements

• Must be able to work hybrid in the UK (St Albans), Malta, or Gibraltar.
• 5+ years of practical experience with Java and Spring; Kotlin knowledge is a plus.
• Strong system design skills including microservices and distributed transaction management.
• Experience with concurrent programming, Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, and MongoDB preferred.
• Good communication and collaboration skills with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with AngularJS is a plus.
